BADGE #3: RUBRICS

One frequently over-looked but essential skill for educators is the ability to create appropriate rubrics for accurately assessing students' knowledge and growth as a result of completing an assignment. Below is an example of the very detailed rubric I created for my Inquiry-Based Learning Lesson Plan, which I created using RubiStar, a website that allows teachers to share rubrics they have made with other teachers. This website is particularly useful because you can search rubrics by topic and adjust them to meet the criteria of your particular lesson. For example, I used another teacher's classroom debate rubric as the foundation for my own, but I adapted it to include completion of the preparatory materials.
